- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire at Gatwick, renters must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence appropriate for the selected vehicle is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Renters must also provide valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as meeting any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Gatwick location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. Prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment partners.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. Upon return, the vehicle should be in the same state as it was when collected, taking into account standard wear and tear. Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any activity that poses a risk. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Driving outside the designated geographical area without prior authorization is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Limitation of Liability in Car Hire
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Gatwick is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the amount you paid for the rental within the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to cases of negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or to instances of fraud.
